FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE下用freebsd-update升级过程:
mail#uname -a
FreeBSD mail.extmail.org 6.2-RELEASE FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE #0: Fri Nov 2 13:04:30 UTC 2007 [email protected]:/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/kernel_IPFW i386
mail#freebsd-update fetch install
Looking up update.FreeBSD.org mirrors... 1 mirrors found.
Fetching public key from update1.FreeBSD.org... done.
Fetching metadata signature from update1.FreeBSD.org... done.
Fetching metadata index...done.
即可完成freebsd的bianary升级。
那为什么用uname看不出来呢？是因为uname反映的是内核级别的情况。只是执行freebsd-update是不触及系统内核的，但是系统确实已经得到了升级。那么，要想能从"uname -a"上反映出来，还需要接着执行下面的命令：
mail#cd /usr/src
mail#make buildkernel KERNCONF=YOURKERNEL
mail#make installkernel KERNCONF=YOURKERNEL
mail#reboot
