就在ComputeX开幕前夕，英国最大的PC零售商PC World宣布将取消旗下所有零售点预装Linux的Netbooks并转向Windows。
至于原因，PC World也作出了解释：
1.此举是为了迎合消费者需求，他们要求安装Windows因为Windows是唯一一款能够给予消费者以选择、兼容性、熟悉度和简便性的系统。
2.绝大多数的netbooks用户都会选择10英寸左右的屏幕，因为此大小刚好可以兼顾便携性和易用性。
3.Windows 7将给netbooks注入新的血液，其一系列的新特性将使得Netbooks更具吸引力。
而根据Net Applications的最新数据，英国有98的netbooks都是运行的Windows系统。而随着Windows 7的发布，恐怕这个数字只会增不会少。
